Voices and Values: The Youth Experience Workshop
Voices and Values is an interactive, youth-centered workshop designed to help young people strengthen their confidence, recognize their worth, and build the communication skills needed to navigate relationships and everyday challenges.
Through guided discussions, relatable scenarios, reflection activities, and group exercises, participants will explore:
- Healthy vs. Unhealthy Relationships: Recognizing signs of respect, trust, boundaries, control, and harmful behavior in dating relationships.
- Peer Pressure and Assertive Communication: Identifying different forms of peer pressure, practicing how to say no, communicating boundaries clearly, and making decisions that align with personal values.
- Self-Esteem and Identity: Exploring the qualities and experiences that shape identity, challenging negative self-talk, celebrating individual strengths, and developing a more positive sense of self.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have practical tools to express themselves confidently, set and respect boundaries, make healthier choices, and support positive relationships. Voices and Values creates a welcoming space where every young person is encouraged to reflect on who they are, recognize the power of their voice, and rise with confidence.
Workshop is from 10am-3pm Saturday, September 26th at Voices for Children Advocacy Center, 515 East Street, Flint MI 48503
Pizza and snacks will be provided for lunch.
