The Art of Protest at People’s Church of Flint

March 13 @ 6:00 pm

Somewhere in Genesee County there’s a protest sign leaning in a garage, basement, or closet. Maybe it came from a march, a rally, or a moment when our community decided it had something to say.

Maybe it was during the Flint Water Crisis, a gathering downtown, no kings, ice out or one of those moments when neighbors showed up because staying quiet wasn’t an option.

This Friday during Flint Art Walk, People’s Church is hosting The Art of Protest a community exhibit where protest signs become part of a shared story about Flint and Genesee County.

Residents are invited to bring protest signs from past marches, rallies, and movements to display as part of the exhibit. If you still have a sign from a moment that mattered to you, bring it.

Don’t have one? Come create one. Art materials will be available so anyone can participate.
Explore the issues that matter most to you. Celebrate free expression , civic engagement and the tradition of protest art as a catalyst for change.

People Powered Flint will be there in support of community expression, civic engagement, and the voices that continue to shape our community.
