Scholars on Tap: The SNAP Cycle: How Benefit Timing Shapes Family Stress and Mealtime Dynamics

The Scholars on Tap series will return to Flint on Monday, January 12, 2026, with a talk examining how the timing of SNAP benefits affects family stress and mealtime dynamics. Dr. Vivienne M. Hazzard, an assistant professor in the departments of public health and family medicine at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine, will lead the discussion. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at Queens’ Provisions, 421 Garland St. in Flint. Scholars on Tap is hosted by Kettering University and Michigan State University and features informal, thought-provoking talks in a casual setting.
