Scholars on Tap – Blueprint of Power: Flint and Urban Renewal
Please join us for the next Scholars on Tap event on Monday, October 12, at 5:30 PM at Tenacity Brewing in Flint! This month’s presentation, Blueprint of Power: Flint and Urban Renewal, will feature Callum Carr-Marquis, Associate Archivist at the Genesee Historical Collections Center at the University of Michigan-Flint. The discussion will explore how urban renewal policies shaped Flint, including their impact on historically Black neighborhoods, displacement of residents, and the lasting effects on the community today. From the Cloverleaf to the St. Johns neighborhood, this presentation will offer an opportunity to learn more about Flint’s history and how past decisions continue to influence the city.
