Dear Community Leader,
Please join us on Thursday, August 13th from noon-1:00pm on zoom for an important meeting with the State of Michigan’s Secretary of State’s office. We will meet staff supporting civic engagement and hear about their plan for election integrity, election security and election education.
The SOS office will share recent data on voter turnout in local precincts to better assist local efforts to get out the vote and fully engage in the democratic process. We also expect and welcome, civic engagement organizations to share what you are doing between now and November to increase community participation and action in the democratic process.
We will be collecting information about the type of civic engagement activities you/your organization are planning for Flint/Genesee County so that we can strengthen collaboration and opportunities to disseminate voter education materials. We want to know what organizations could use volunteers, what training will be offered for people to GOTV/Poll Workers/Poll Challengers, etc., what events (like education or debates, etc) will be hosted.
You are all doing great work and we want to build up your capacity to make this election season a huge success!
