Join us to Light Up Thread Lake and brighten the night for the kids at The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint!

Calling all kayakers and paddle boarders. Get ready to illuminate the night at Thread Lake – Cummings Park, Orville Street entrance, Flint MI. You will enjoy a dazzling display of lights while supporting a great cause.
Everyone who registers will receive a “glow goodie bag” which will include a headlamp, glow sticks, water and snack. Early registration begins at 5:30 pm. The event starts at 6:00 pm.
We will line up kayaks for launching at 7:00 pm. All vessels should be in the water by 7:30 pm. The parade of lights will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
There will be areas in the park where you can decorate your kayaks. You can pick whatever theme you want. We recommend that you use solar or battery powered art effects and lights. Be creative. There will be a prize for the most outstanding display. We had two fur babies to join us last year. Our furry buddies are always welcomed. They will need a life jacket to participate and must stay on leash in park area. Make sure to grab a doggy treat at registration.
The Boys and Girls Club does amazing work in our community, and this event is our way of showing our appreciation. We will have raffle a prize of a folding kayak and there will be prizes for most creative kayak. there will also be a 50/50 raffle. Bring your friends and family for a fun-filled evening of music, laughs and lots of lights!

THIS IS A SPECTATOR FRIENDLY EVENT
If you would like to volunteer to help out this cause worthy event, you may do so on the ticket page or you can submit an email to vehiclecitykayaks@gmail.com – All volunteers will receive event T-Shirts the day of the event. We are seeking 10 volunteers. Volunteers will still be able to participate in the Parade of Lights.
IN THE EVENT OF INCLIMATE WEATHER FULL REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED. THE RAFFLE WILL TAKE PLACE AND THE WINNER WILL BE NOTIFIED.
