Flint Under the Stars: Soul

January 21 @ 7:00 pm

Music Soul Revue with Alina Oliver and Friends

A monthly donate-what-you-wish concert series featuring local talent. Minimum $5 donation.

Wednesday, January 21 at 7:00pm
FIM Capitol Theatre

Join us as we welcome Alina Oliver and performers from Flint’s New McCree Theatre as they present a Music Soul Revue! Alina will take us on a musical journey back through popular soul music from the 1950’s through the 1970’s. Featuring a lineup of incredible vocalists and live music provided by George Warren and the High Definition Band Theatre Ensemble, this is a show you cannot miss!

Founded in 1970 and named for Floyd J. McCree, Flint’s first African American mayor, the New McCree Theatre has served as a voice for Black storytelling and performance for more than five decades. Reborn in 2004 with a mission to tell the African American story in the African American voice, the theatre now offers plays, concerts, youth programs, and workshops that uplift and preserve Black history and creativity. Since securing its permanent home in 2021, the New McCree has expanded into year-round classes, community events, and mainstage productions — including work celebrating Black history and music — strengthening its role as a vital cultural institution in Flint.
