Brazil’s official submission for the 98th Academy Award Best International Feature Film, The Secret Agent, set in 1977 is the story of a technology expert seeking refuge in his hometown. Fleeing from a mysterious past he returns to his hometown of Recife, but he soon realizes that it is not the peaceful place he seeks.
