Faith, Industry & Innovation: Stories of Faith and Leadership That Built Flint and the Auto Industry
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Flint will host “Faith, Industry & Innovation,” a community program exploring the shared history of faith, leadership and the American auto industry.
The event will highlight the contributions of William C. “Billy” Durant, founder of General Motors and Chevrolet, as well as local industry leader A.B.C. Hardy. The program will also feature Walter Peake, St. Paul’s historian, and Gary L. Fisher, historian and president of the Genesee County Historical Society.
Organizers say the program will examine how faith, innovation and community leadership helped shape Flint’s automotive legacy and continue to influence its future.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 711 S. Saginaw Street in Flint.
