Distinguished Chef Dinner Featuring Chef Jimmy Lee Hill
Mott Community College’s Culinary Arts Institute will host its Distinguished Chef Dinner on December 5, 2025, featuring award-winning Chef Jimmy Lee Hill. Chef Hill is the Executive Chef and instructor of the acclaimed Food Tech training program at the Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater, MI – a program that has gained national recognition for its transformative impact. He has dedicated over 30 years to improving education inside Michigan’s Correctional System.
Chef Hill and three of his students are featured in the James Beard award-winning documentary “Coldwater Kitchen,” highlighting his remarkable work and stories of lives changed through his program. A free documentary screening of “Coldwater Kitchen” will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the Mott Memorial Building Auditorium on MCC’s main campus.
