9-11 Reflection Ceremony
Mott Community College’s Department of Public Safety will host a 9/11 Reflection Ceremony marking the 25th anniversary on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 8:45 a.m. The event will take place at the Trade Center I-beam, south of the Prahl College Center on the Flint campus.
A moment of silence will be observed at 8:46 a.m. to mark the time the first tower was struck.
The program will include:
– Flag raising by the MCC Police Department detail
– Ceremonial song performed by Josh Alaytim and Mallary Bettendorf, Fellowship in Music Scholar and Music major
– Welcome from Chief Jamie L. Zecman, MCC Department of Public Safety
– 9/11 reflection by Dr. Brian C. Frelix, pastor of Foss Avenue Missionary Baptist Church
– U.S. Army bugle call performed by Terry Baker, a trumpet player and community member
The event is free and open to the public.
