The Flint Entrepreneurial Ecosystem has announced the start of its latest mentorship program cohort, to bring business mentors and local founders together to help grow and strengthen the Flint area’s entrepreneurial environment and support network.
The program offers structured support, practical information, and one-on-one coaching for participants. Those resources help entrepreneurs access individual guidance in their ventures, learning opportunities, and an environment focused on collaboration and growth.
The program is part of the Flint Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, a group of more than 30 regional partners that provide a range of support services, education, tools, and networking opportunities to entrepreneurs and small and microbusinesses. SIPI, Inc., a Flint-based capacity-building and consulting organization that supports nonprofits, small businesses, and community-driven initiatives, is the lead convening organization in the Flint Entrepreneurial Ecosystem.
“We’re thrilled to launch the next cohort of the Flint Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Mentorship Program,” said Jordan Brown, vice president of SIPI, in a news release. “Past mentorship efforts have reinforced the value of relationship-based support and have shown that the Near-Peer Ecosystem Model, the ecosystem assisted in co-creating, works. By connecting entrepreneurs with mentors and peers who understand their stage of growth, we’re helping founders move forward with more tools and support.”
The next cohort begins February 12. The program is looking for both people interested in receiving mentoring or experienced entrepreneurs who would like to be mentors. Mentors in the program are provided a stipend to compensate for their time. There is an online application for both mentees and mentors to apply.
The program offers one-on-one mentor pairings, help with identifying and reaching achievable goals, and community activities designed to build learning and connection.
The program is open to aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs who are seeking expert insight and support as they refine their business ideas, establish operational practices, and navigate the early stages of growth. More information is available online.
