Our Emergency Response Team (ERT) Committee and Physical and Mental Health Committee\, in partnership with the American Red Cross\, are hosting a community blood drive.\nThis effort is made possible through collaboration with Jack and Jill of America\, Inc. Flint Chapter\, The Hasselbring Senior Center\, the National Association of University Women-Great lakes Branch\, and Eta Phi Beta Sorority\, Inc.\, Delta Tau Chapter.\nTogether\, we are uniting to make a difference.\nWhy Donate Blood?• Every 2 seconds\, someone in the U.S. needs blood. It is vital for surgeries\, cancer treatments\, chronic illnesses\, and traumatic injuries.• One donation can save up to 3 lives. A single car accident victim may require as many as 100 units of blood.• Nearly 29\,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day in the U.S.\, along with 5\,000 units of platelets and 6\,500 units of plasma.• Despite this urgent need\, only about 3% of eligible Americans donate blood each year.\nWe urge all eligible donors to participate.
